Overview: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional certification in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The RBT credential is designed for individuals who implement ABA services under the supervision of a qualified Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA).
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential is important to families, agencies, and therapists for several reasons: assurance of competence, quality of care and support, consistency in intervention implementation, collaboration and communication, professional development, accountability and ethical standards, to mention a few.
